Summer 2015 Newsletter

Texas Newsletter
Epsilon Gamma initiated 16 new members into our bonds in Spring 2015 raising the active count to 123. On top of growing numbers inside the chapter, Pi Kappa Alpha continued to expand its supremacy in campus involvement with our very own Holton Westbrook being elected as Student Body President by a 700 vote margin, PIKE’s 2nd in the last 3 years, as well positioning for the future by electing several chapter members to SGA Senate.
Chapter athletics showed unrelenting improvement, placing 3rd overall in Big Greek intramurals claiming 1st in softball defeating Delta Sigma Phi (Delta Sig) by the score of 14-4 while decimating intramural basketball competition, concluding with a 46-35 victory over Sigma Phi Epsilon (Sig Ep).
Socially, PIKE threw the annual “Ragin Cajun” theme party featuring 500 pounds of crawfish, a massive build including a 25’ boat with a full deck, and musical performances by Ace Hood. Most notably, The Dream Girl Formal has returned to glamor, this year, held at The Ranch House overlooking Buffalo Springs Lake. The event was catered Llano Estacado Winery and featured a live band following the chapter awards ceremony.
Do your part in rebuilding the dynasty by referring men of potential for Fall Recruitment formally starting August 18th.
“Our earnest hope is that you will reflect on what Pike has given you and stretch yourself to ensure the lasting impact of  the Pike tradition at Texas Tech University.”

Dream Girl

“I’m elated to be chosen as THE Pike Dream Girl this year. They are a great group of guys and it’s been such a fun year    to get to know them and make memories with them. My favorite memory this year was watching the guys win the championship in both softball and basketball and getting to go on a beach spring break trip with many of them! I’m very excited for another great year and want to thank the gentlemen of Pi Kappa Alpha for choosing me as their dream girl 2015.”
We’re ecstatic to announce that the new Texas Tech PIKE website is fully functional now. Our goal is to provide the active chapter and alumni with a sustainable webpage that will become a hub for useful information to PIKE members and the general Greek community collectively. The website is mobile friendly and has many features that most fraternity websites are incapable of providing. Once again, Texas Tech PIKE is leading the way in fraternal excellence.
